![]() And right back face-to-face with Cranky Campbell, who hates me even more than he did when we were kids. Football is the one thing I use to distract myself from the truth, and when I screw-up and lose the game I love, I find myself right back in Fever Falls. If it hadn’t been for that one teenage slipup where I kissed Beau Campbell, I’d be able to keep fooling myself. If there’s one thing I know, it’s how to play the game…both on and off the field. I loved her Wild Love series – I’m also looking forward to read book #3 – and I enjoyed Saint and Lucky but absolutely hated her Blackcreek series – so much I had to DNF book 1. ![]() ![]() ![]() I have a love/hate relationship with Riley Hart, I have enjoyed so far all her books with another author such as The Metropolis series and Beautiful Chaos with Devon McCormack, felt in love with Of Sunlight and Stardust with co-author Christina Lee but when I tried reading a series or book by her alone, I felt into the love/hate hole. ![]()

From romance master Kylie Scott comes Skin, the second installment in the sizzling Flesh series. ![]() ![]() ![]() I only read about half the epilogue because it was diverging into literally a page of footnotes for a page of actual main text and I also couldn't deal with Sacks writing another "thus" to start a sentence. ![]() Did he have the patients best interests in mind or was he just trying to make a name for himself at the expense of the defenseless? Beyond that, the writing style was dull, so when the anecdotes about the patients started to seem a little repetitive, it bogged down. Repeatedly throughout the book, he makes note of saying he felt treatment might be a bad idea, yet does it anyway. ![]() In one case, Sacks (the author of the book and the doctor conducting the experiments/research) actually hid dosage of the treatment drug in a patient's food because the patient didn't want to try the treatment. ![]() On a moral level, a few patients actually benefited in the long term from treatment. That's not to say the book was without problems. The second amazing part is the stories about those affected by the disease and getting some insight into the incredible mysteries of the human mind. I've heard of the former, but other than knowing the movie inspired by the book exists, I had no idea of the latter. The spanish influenza was long before my time as was the attack of "sleepy sickness" that followed closely on its heels. ![]() ![]() ![]() “Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth” was directed by Spike Lee, written by Tyson’s wife, Kiki, and attended by Kanye West, 50 Cent, and Bryant Gumbel. Mike Tyson wants to be left alone on stage. ![]() Like every serious analysand, Tyson entices us by hovering constantly on the verge of a “breakthrough.” Who else goes live on the “Today” show and affably speculates, in the spirit of breakfast chatter, that his veganism can be traced to a former compulsion to frequent prostitutes? Sonny Liston was a man who wanted to be left alone. In person, it’s mostly his lisping wit, the unpredictable turns of his Woody Allen meets Genghis Khan shtick, that continue to surprise. It is precisely his arena-sized isolation, his painfully live, often apocalyptic solo performances that have made him a person of fascination for two and half decades. His opponents always seemed beside the point. Frazier-Tyson never had a true antagonist. Unlike those fighters whose legacies were carved out in collaboration with rivals-Louis vs. After watching Mike Tyson’s one-man show on Broadway, it all seems so obvious: his life has always been a one-man show. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Inner Party, whose members make up 2% of the population, effectively govern, while the Outer Party, who number about 13% of the population, unquestioningly carry out their orders. Oceania, made up of the English-speaking nations, is ruled by a group known simply as the Party, a despotic oligarchical collective that is ideologically very similar to the regimes in power in the other two superstates, though each claims that their system is superior to the others. The superpowers are so evenly matched that a decisive victory is impossible, but the real reason for the war is to keep their economies productive without adding to the wealth of their citizens, who live (with the exception of a privileged few) in a state of fear and poverty. In the future world of 1984, the world is divided up into three superstates-Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia-that are deadlocked in a permanent war. ![]() ![]() ![]() Gideon is used to having a strong handle and control over his life – both business and personal. He is all of my favorite tropes I love in a hero. Dark, blunt, shrouded in mystery, and domineering, Gideon captured my heart. Honestly, I loved Gideon Cross from the moment he was introduced. There’s a new billionaire alpha male in town. Here’s my review trying to convince you why you need to read Bared to You, sprinkled with some sexy and emotional quotes that are just making me want to re-read it again. This was my first book by Sylvia Day and definitely not the last. It’s an enticing read of two broken characters, an emotional journey of them trying to beat their demons to come together, and their intense sexual chemistry – all laid right here in my review. It is an apt name for this book because it has the characters baring their secrets to one another (more on this below). Although I did read it because it was marketed as ‘similar to Fifty Shades of Grey’ (which was also one of my favorite books at the time), it is actually a mature version of that (if I had to compare them both).īared to You is the first book in the Crossfire series that had me completely hooked from page one when I read it for the first… second, and the fourth time. If there’s a billionaire romance that I will always recommend, it’s Bared to You by Sylvia Day. ![]() ![]() Reader can get many real examples that can be great knowledge. Since there is no parents in the picture, and apparently no one of them is working, actually Jamie is still going to high school, my idea is that Matt is a trust fund boy and he is maintaining all of them. Alan doesn’t say much about how they are together, I did my own version, probably Matt found all three of them in different moment and they ended living together in Matt’s house. Don't get mistaken by the cover, there is very little of innocence or naivete in this book.Īctually one of the four boys, Matt, is 22 years old, and then there is Jason, 19, Jamie, 17 and Alan, the narrative voice, 19. Elisa_rolle This is a funny romp but do not search a realistic story in here unless you don’t compare it to some frat house type of story where the boys involved always try to prove that, under 21 years old you are really not an adult. ![]() ![]() Shaw’s support of socialism often figures thematically into his writing. He joined the Fabian Society, a recently formed British socialist organization, in 1884. Shaw became politically active during this time, attending meetings with the Social Democratic Federation. His first published works were novels, though he is best known for his dramas. Shaw took odd jobs while in London, but it wasn’t until the 1880s that he began to make a livable income from writing. Bessie left for London in 1873 with his two older sisters, and Shaw followed them there in 1876. Shaw unhappily attended four schools in his youth and developed a deep distaste for formal education. George Bernard Shaw was born in 1856 in Dublin, the youngest child of George Carr Shaw, a civil servant, and Lucinda Elizabeth (Bessie) Shaw, a singer. ![]() |
